DENTAL VENEERS AND LAMINATES NEAR YOU
Dental veneers are ultra-thin shells of porcelain that are applied to the front surface of visible teeth. They’re commonly used as a popular cosmetic dental treatment to improve the overall look of the teeth. One reason for their popularity is their versatility. Veneers can be used to correct a number of cosmetic concerns on a single tooth, or an entire smile.Did You Know?
Although porcelain veneers are the most common type of veneers, they are not the only material used to make them. In some cases, veneers can be made out of composite resin for a less-permanent and affordable alternative.
Frequently Asked Questions
Am I a candidate for dental veneers?
You may be a candidate for dental veneers if you are looking for a minimally-invasive cosmetic dental treatment to improve the appearance of your smile. Dental veneers can correct the following cosmetic concerns:- Improper spacing
- Discolored or stained teeth
- Overlapping teeth
- Damaged teeth
- Teeth that have gaps in between them
- Teeth that are too small
- Oddly shaped or mismatched teeth
What can I expect when having dental veneers placed?
When having dental veneers placed, you can expect to attend two dental appointments. During the first appointment, your teeth will be prepared for the placement of veneers. To prepare your teeth for veneers, a small amount of enamel needs to be removed from the front surface of your teeth. This is so the veneers can fit comfortably and aesthetically over your teeth. After the teeth have been prepared, a dental impression or oral scan will be taken of your mouth and sent to a dental lab. While the dental lab fabricates your veneers, your dentist will apply temporary veneers to protect your teeth in the meantime. In approximately 1 to 2 weeks, you will return to our office to have your permanent veneers fitted and cemented to your teeth.
